About 300 researchers from home and abroad participated in the international conference organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering(ME) at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology(CUET).
The conference consisted of 8 keynote sessions, 6 invited speeches, 1 plenary session and 14 technical sessions where researchers presented their research papers on mechanical engineering and renewable energy.
India’s famous researcher and Head of Department of Medical Science and Technology of Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Kharagpur Dr. Suman Chakraborty said, I am very happy to be a part of this international conference. I am impressed with the organization and camaraderie of CUET. There are many higher education and research opportunities for Bangladeshi students in India. Hopefully the relationship between CUET and Indian universities will be strengthened very soon. He advised the students to emphasize practical and research based knowledge must be in addition to academic studies.

Kazi Afzalur Rahman, head of the organizing committee of the conference and professor of ME department of CUET said that, we have successfully completed the conference very beautifully and smoothly. I am thankful to CUET administration and organizing committee for that. Through this conference, a new door has been created for our communication with various researchers of the country and abroad. In the sessions, the researchers presented various topics of their research. I am hopeful that our teachers, researchers, students have benefited from it.
General Secretary of the Organizing Committee Professor Prasanjit Das expressed his word, Our purpose of this conference was to spread knowledge among teachers, students and researchers. I am very happy that our teachers and students spontaneously participated in the sessions. In the sessions, researchers highlighted various topics of modern technology and research. We already have a student exchange program with Egder University in Norway. We hope that through this conference, our teachers and students will have the opportunity to conduct research with the world’s top researchers.
Note that 3 key-note sessions, 3 invited speeches, 7 technical sessions and 1 plenary session were held on the last day of the conference. The conference concluded with the closing ceremony in the evening. University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Earlier, 5 key-note sessions, 3 invited speeches and 7 technical sessions were held on Thursday, the first day of the conference.
