Drainage area adjacent to Bangabondhu hall in between high way and footpath has turned into a garbage, resulting students to be the suffered.
These garbage not only spreading bad smell but proving a suitable residence for mosquito generation also. Students of the residential hall can’t open their windows for fresh air due to intense bad smell and mosquito. The footpath ranging from varsity main gate to Pahartoli is getting repugnant for walking.
A regular student named Nazmul Hasan from EEE dept. told, the way by which dirt increasing here has made it impossible for us to open the windows facing highway and we are required to use mosquito coil for long time.
Students having asthma problem, really find it stressed to enlighten mosquito coil or spray.
Students claimed that the people associated with nearby hotels and others throw their dirt and garbage at night silently. Abdullah Al Mamun, a student of final year said he has seen people throwing bags full of garbage there while going to the hotel for supper. On asking, the hotel management declined the fact.
Vice director of CUET students wellfare committee Md Tarequl Alam said regarding the fact that throwing garbage adjacent to the varsity main gate area is not expected at all. We have been informed about the matter. We will be talking with the local Chairman about it and take hard step against.
It is to be mentioned that ‘Green For Peace’ a varsity organization for environment safety took the initiative that resulted forestation at the right side of the road. But the extension of Kaptai highway resulted deforestation and created an empty place thereby.
